Imbolc – The Liminal Space Between Winter & Spring

What do you know about Imbolc? ๐Ÿฎ๐ŸŒž๐Ÿฅ›

Also known in some spiritual traditions as Candlemas, Imbolc (IM-olg) is a cross-quarter celebration falling on February 1 through sundown February 2. This marks the halfway point between Winter & Spring, providing juicy symbolism about renewal, the return of light, and birth.

Imbolc is a very meaningful holiday for me due to its associations with the Goddess and Saint Brigid.

During my time on a specifically pagan spiritual path, I worked with Brigid’s energy to heal my Mother wounds after the loss of my daughter. Brigid is a Goddess associated with mourning and profound loss as she experienced child loss. As the story goes, her laments and wails of absolute sorrow brought about the term keening.

Imbolc represents a time of new beginnings. We begin to see the sun’s return, light growing, and life returning to the land after hibernation. This time of year (in the Northern Hemisphere) is good for learning, planning, and returning to our light.

Imbolc is associated with the Goddess and Saint Brigid. Brigid, known by many names throughout history, is a figure associated with smithing, poetry, and healing. Her stories also have ties to cows, milk, fire, water, and keening (mournful crying). Therefore, Imbolc is often associated with well imagery, the returning light of the sun, and nature’s renewal.

There is immense tenderness in Imbolc. Opportunity to look to our light. To nourish ourselves deeply. To acknowledge we are almost through the dark.

How will you spend your Imbolc?

I’d love for you to join me for this meaningful holiday.

The Silver Wheel rituals are different from my moon and portal rituals. Those experiences are easy to drop into with no more than a pen and paper and feel fully prepared.

Silver Wheel offerings on the other hand are more in-depth. You are given a supply list so you can follow along with the ritual.

I offer this so that you get to do a ritual right from your own space

while still receiving the energetic container of others and myself! These are beautiful moments of presence open to any spiritually open person regardless of religion.

There will be a PDF to follow along with me with including journaling prompts, activities, readings, and call and response. This is a guide you can keep forever and recreate for yourself in future years as these moments in time will always be relevant in our life cycles!

If this speaks to you, you can sign up HERE! You’re also more than welcome to invite friends if they could use a night of self care like this! ๐Ÿ™‚
